New Girl in the Hospital

Having just completed my first week in the hospital, I guess I'm growing out of the "New girl" pupa. Hello friends! I'm Dr. Aishwarya Iyer, the brand new (maybe not so shiny) vitreo retinal fellow at AJEH. I joined the AJEH family on August 22nd 2020 - initially beginning with a virtual "work from home" setup and physically joining on Sept 9th 2020. Usually very confident and robust about everything, for the first time in my life, I was nervous about a new workplace. The aura around the hospital exuded efficiency and clinical competency. I wondered how I will fit in here - me, a totally inexperienced surgeon, fresh out of medical school, armed with nothing but a couple of degrees (MBBS, MS). But boy was I in for a surprise. Everyone at the institute was nothing but kind, helpful and friendly. I was made to feel so welcome by the most humble, sincere and wonderful person - Dr. S. Natarajan. Have you ever heard of the MD and chairperson/founder of an institut

Warm Greetings!!! 14th November, 2019.                   The President of AIOS, Prof. Dr. S Natarajan visits the Governor of Maharashtra, Shri. Bhagat Singh Koshyari, projecting the ongoing Diabetic Retinopathy camps conducted throughout the nation along with the sportive assistance of the state president and IMA.     STOP BLINDNESS - JYOT SE JYOT JALAO              Today being the WORLD DIABETES DAY, the effectuating mission of AIOS now seeks the blessings of our honourable Governor of Maharashtra.  The Padma Shri awardee, Prof. Dr. Natarajan put forth his idea and structured method of training the underskilled layman with the guidance of  professionals, providing the basics of using the camera, clicking pictures of the retina and referring them to our doctors. This great step would definitely help us treating the 73 million people in need. Neglecting the preventive DIABETIC BLINDNESS at earlier detectable stages would lead to the loss of one's precious vision.

Prof.Dr. Natarajan has successfully reached a step further towards his dream project  for eradicating 'Diabetic Blindness' as his words go 'STOP BLINDNESS- JYOT SE JYOT JALAO'. His simplistic formula for success has eased his victory immensely.  " Success is not measured by the money you make but by the ability to be happy, by being the best in whichever task you undertake. I believe in the 4 P's of success - passion, perfection, precision and perseverance."              - Prof. Dr.S. Natarajan. AIOS has established its vision crystal clear, with the motive of eradicating 'DIABETIC BLINDNESS.' Our AIOS '5 Point Vision' goes as below: 1. ONE  VISION – ONE INDIA – ONE AIOS 2. Celebrating 200 Glorious years of Modern Ophthalmology in India. 3. Rural Eye Care: (a) Raasta Dekho Project (to screen truck drivers across India),  (b) EYE (I) See You.
